​Join us at Degrees, Diplomas & Development for a morning of learning about the exciting work happening in Brampton's post-secondary education sector.
Hear from leaders at our major public institutions about how they are shaping their programming to better meet workforce pressures and prepare students to
participate in the emerging economy. Industry partners will also participate to talk about their biggest needs and the partnerships that they are
forging to find solutions right here in our city. Come away with new appreciation for our status as a post-secondary destination and broader understanding of
what the future of work will look like.

Agenda
8:30am: Doors Open, Full breakfast & Networking

9:00am: Keynote Speaker: The Future of Work, Mike Jackson, Workforce Transformation Consumer Lead, Deloitte



In our opening keynote Mike Jackson, Senior Manager Workforce Transformation Consumer Lead at Deloitte, will give us a glimpse into the future of work. After a period of some of the greatest disruptions to the nature of work in recent memory, this is a unique opportunity to understand the big themes and trends
that will drive employment in the future. The presentation will tie in the role of higher education and the changing talent landscape, as well as looking at recent Deloitte research into the role of the educational institutions and employers, and how they are increasing their ability to connect and prepare for future skills shortages.

9:40am: Future of Work Panel - featuring leaders from TMU, Algoma, Humber & Sheridan



This panel of post-secondary leaders will look at the work of major public institutions in Brampton, including Humber, Algoma, Sheridan and TMU, to align their programming with the on-going and emerging needs of local employers. Hear their perspective on how they interpret the feedback they hear from the business community and work to translate it into program offerings that train high-skill, work-ready graduates. Our city?s post-secondary leaders will offer unique insight into where they think the future is, and how they are positioning to get there.

10:30am: Industry Collaboration Panel - featuring industry leaders from TMU Venture Zone, Almag, Bayshore Healthcare and others.



The second panel of the day will focus on the industry partners who employ thousands in our city and are constantly grappling with the big questions around the workforce of the future. They will share their analysis of what skills are in the greatest shortage right now, and what the biggest needs of the economy of tomorrow will be. Hear about where and how they look for talent, and what their hopes are for
how the post-secondary sector can better equip their graduates to participate in the future economy.
